3 AUG 2023: This is how you always get better accommodation

Hi there,

A new way to gain a life perspective? It stems from the idea that we all have a time bank account getting 720 minutes deposited every day. We can spend them any way we wish, but there is no refund policy. One day your account will be empty.

That is when you’ll want to know the answer to the question: ‘Did I use my time well?’ Reply with Yes or No.

For a better life perspective, here are some eery but fascinating messages from people who are no longer here:

ADVENTURE STORIES WORTH YOUR TIME

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW

  • Climate crisis-fueled extreme heat caused at least five deaths in US national parks since June, surpassing the average for a typical summer. The crisis has led to increased heatwaves globally, with US national parks experiencing double the temperature rise compared to the rest of the country. Death Valley's upcoming temperatures may exceed 130F, posing risks to visitors.

Taking between 12-17 days, the Manaslu trek is a 110-mile hike that is an excellent alternative to the Everest Base Camp hike or the Annapurna Circuit hike.

PRO TIP: ALTITUDE SICKNESS

Altitude illness (aka Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) or altitude sickness), is a condition caused by fast ascents to high altitudes. Susceptibility to altitude sickness increases for most people at around 3,000m, some can experience altitude illness symptoms as low as 2,400m. To minimise your chances of getting it and potentially being forced down before completing your trek, follow these simple rules:

  1. Drink twice as much water

  2. Climb slowly

  3. Eat carbs
